Market Structure  is a simple or probably the simplest way to understand what (and sometimes why) is happening to prices of any actively traded financial instruments. These instruments can be Equity stocks, commodities, bonds, etc.

If you understand  in which structure the prices of any financial instrument is currently in, you will be able to predict and understand, what it will probably do next?

Simply put, moving away from possibilities to probabilities is the best outcome of knowing and understanding Market Structure.

So let’s understand  briefly different types of Market structures that exists.

1. Bull Market Phase
2. Bear Market Phase
3. Sideways or Consolidation Phase

Once you have an understanding of the prevailing structure, you can make sure you don’t make a wrong or a counter-trend decision.

Example: Taking a long position when the structure is bearish and vice versa
